*89.5 WAHS SPOTLIGHT!* *2* Thee Moths!

The newest addition to the 89.5 WAHS Spotlight! series is here! This is Alex Botten, the central figure of the amorphous, ever-evolving Thee Moths (myspace)! I discovered Thee Moths through Dino Spiluttini of Beat Is Murder records, and instantly fell in love with their hypnotizingly catchy folktronic music.Download the full album, Sparrows and More Sparrows, for free!

I will have a full scale review of it up soon enough, along with a comprehensive list of Alex Botten’s past and current projects/collaborations!

Welcome!

This is DJ Dubb. This blog will be a place for album reviews, artist spotlights, random commentaries and other miscellaneous work I want to share. My show is 2:30 to 5:30, Monday evenings (but I’m often on at other times as well).

I play everything from Johnny Cash to Xiu Xiu. What you will hear largely depends on how I’m feeling on that particular day. Regardless, expect to hear alot of amazing, obscure bands that you’ve never heard of. In fact, after listening to my show, you will be able to out-indie the best. So, at the next indie show at the Magic Stick or wherever, when that cute member of the opposite gender happens to say, “Hey, have you ever heard of The Twilight Sad?” you’ll be able to say, “Yes, yes I have.”

                                                         peace, love, and indie,
                                                                                 -Dubb

[Included below is the first *89.5 WAHS Spotlight!*. I hope for there to be many more! Soon we’ll have the Dust Covered Carpet spotlight up, and after that, who knows? Once again, the band is Br’er, an experimental band from West Philadelphia.)
